Useful information
• The dry season runs from mid February to mid May. The raining
season lasts from mid May to mid October. The best time to visit is
from October to February. This is wintertime in Myanmar.
• Light clothing is recommended for Myanmar all year round. Cotton
clothing and a light wrap for the evenings during the cool season are
recommended.
• Please bring the insect repellent when necessary and use it. Sun
lotion to protect the tropical sun.
• The local currency is Kyat. Notes are issued in denominations of
1,5,10,15,20,50,100,200,500 &1000.
• You need to get the latest information about credit card before you
travel to Myanmar.
• Entrance Fees are collected at well-known pagodas, Monasteries,
Museum, old palaces and archaeological sites.
• Airport tax is US$ 10 per head to be paid on departure.
• Visitors get 28-day visa for Tourist .Now. Can extend the visa 2 weeks
more in Myanmar. We need to contact Myanmar Travel &Tours (MTT) and
Immigration. We pay for $2 for MTT & $36 for Immigration. Two copies of
passport, document from Hotel where the visitor stay, five photos are
needed.
• Visitors are requested to dress decently within the precincts of
religious places. Footwear is strictly prohibited in Pagodas &
Monasteries.
• 80% of the Myanmar people are Buddhist. And they profess Theravada
Buddhism.
• The Government offices operate from 9:30 to 16:30, Monday through
Friday. Banks are open from 10:00 to 14:00.
