Myitkyina


Myitkyina is the capital of Kachin state. Kachin state is the northern most part of Myanmar. Pleasantly situated on the riverbank. The climate is temperate the enchanting and the many ethnic groups.
In Myitkyina, only one home industry makes pure raw silver to ornaments (likes small cute gongs) of Kachin traditional dress. It is very charming traditional costume.

Ma-naw Festival, which is the most widely, knows. It celebrates once a year in second week of January, reunion of friends & families. The highlight of the festival is Manaw dance held on the Manaw ground. During the festival, practically anyone can participate in Manaw dance. All the hill tribes from around Kachin State come to Capital. So we will see their very colourful & beautiful real traditional costume.

Source of main River, which is Ayeyarwaddy River. Confluence (Myitson) is one of the beautiful places in our country. After Myitson, two rivers combine to become one big river named Ayerwaddy .We will get an experience how to panning the Gold by hand & machine.

About six hours drive from Myitkyina we reach InDawGyi Lake. InDawGyi Lake is the largest lake in the whole of Myanmar. ShweMyintZu Pagoda is located in the largest lake. It is unforgettable Sunset view with lake and Pagoda. Visit to Shan village by boat and walk around is really marvelous.
